"We Provide Food, Housing, and a Brighter Future for Veterans Who Courageously Served." At Hope Floats for Veterans, Inc., we are building floating, off grid, homes; planting a permaculture food forest and community gardens for growing nutritious food and pursuing freedom and self sufficiency. With two sites based in Michigan, use what we have and have what we use. HFV has an education and resource center on the donated 62-acre parcel and donated heavy equipment. We are putting in an organic permaculture food forest, community gardens, and building floating homes (houseboats), establishing a community of support for homeless Veterans on the 10-acre lake. Veterans can be temporarily Homeless, but they are not helpless. We are giving Veterans a hand up, not a handout. A future where they can flourish and thrive! The long-term goal of HFV is to inspire, guide, and teach job skills designed to promote regenerative practices restoring homeless veterans with their families. We accomplish this goal by building floating homes, growing nutritious food, creating a compelling, abundant future: Financially Resilient and Ecologically Empowered (FREE). Our target populations are homeless Veterans, at-risk Veterans, and their families.
